Does anyone read Uncanny X-Men? Emma complaining about rents in San Francisco made me laugh.
It should be fun reading a Marvel title set here instead of New York.

One of my all-time favorite shorts!
Okay, let's just say, theoretically, that I was part of a group who gets together every once in a while to watch (often bad) porn-ish or bondage-ish movies, that sort of thing.
If I was to bring a MST3K to this group, does anyone have any suggestions of which one I should bring?
I guess what I'm asking, which is the naughtiest MST3K? :)

"Motivational poster" shows a former cheerleader turned Air Force sniper.
So I've never quite understood what's the big deal about the line, "This is where the fish lives," from A Touch of Satan. What's so rift-worthy about it?
...and found nothing but what is likely the wrong stuff. I will blame the possibility of a wrong search word or two, but I tried several.
Anyway, in "Pod People", I have always been curious about the "Chief? "McLeod?" reference at the end of all the name stuff. I am sure it has a meaning, but alas, I am lost.
Halp?

I need help. I was thinking of getting an MST3k tattoo but I'm not sure what to get. I love each character so I don't think I want to get one character specifically. I was thinking about getting the planet:

But I don't know if that's too detailed to get. I want to get it on the shoulder blade so I don't know if the silhouette of them sitting in the theater would look any good:

I looked it up but it doesn't seem like a lot of people have MST3k tattoos so I can't get very good help that way.
What are your opinions/ideas?
Edit: Another option being the SOL:

Edit Edit:
Does anyone have any links to sites that may contain mst3k tattoos?

So, as you might know, there is a certain post nestled within this community wherein you can search MSTies new and old alike for new friends.
The result? I TOTALLY BLAME THIS COMM for the recent deluge of additions to my flist. Damn you! You're making me participate!!!
Actually I'm having a blast. Seriously, guys, use the friends post. Kindred spirits abound! I can't remember the last time I had so much fun on LJ!
But, I have to make this an mst3k post, so...
Who can tell me which episode my icon is from? Seriously, I totally have no idea!

I've been an Omar fan since my life in Ohio, and I really want his autograph in my toddler son's My First Giants board book on the page that says "autographs".
I was thinking of going to tomorrow's game at 5ish, but before I cover him in black and orange and hop on the N, I have some questions.
1. Is hanging out by the dugout for 2 hours before the game a decent way to try and get an autograph? Do the ushers let you go there if the game hasn't started yet even if you don't have tickets for that section?
2. Ballpoint pen or Sharpie? (edited to add: found some pen tips online. still undecided tho)
3. Do you think there will be ticket sellers around that early? I'm looking for cheap seats because Max's bedtime is 7:30, so I won't be staying for much of the actual game.
4. Anyone have tickets? Anyone want to go?
Thanks!

does anybody know which episode it is that involves mike dressed up as a mentally-impaired farmer and crow as an alarmed llama, being petted way too hard by said mentally-impaired farmer? i can't remember which one it is for the life of me, but i seem to recall it making me nearly wet myself from laughing last time i saw it.

LEAVE ROBERT DENBY ALONE!
I would argue that one of the most important aspects of MST3K that makes folks like us obsess over the show (there, I said it. I'm obsessed) is the writers' willingness to put references in the riffs that only a tiny fraction of the viewing audience would understand. It adds to the personal touch that the show has, making it seem like each episode was made just for you.
What are some of the obscure references that, when you first heard it, you were sure that you were one of the very few who got it, and laughed your ass off because of it? I'm partial to the ones that have to do with art, since that's my study now in grad school. For example, in The Final Sacrifice, there's the line, "Well, let's go grab some bullwhips and pose for Mapplethorpe." Gets me every time, partly because I have the feeling that the joke would go over the heads of so many watching the show.
So what about you guys?

My hands are icy cold; I can barely feel my fingers typing this. I tried to warm them up on my laptop, but it had the opposite effect - I cooled my laptop down. The rest of me doesn't get this cold though, just my hands.
p.s. Why is the AC on so high?

Hi newbies! One of our moderators,
speaker, made a post where you can all go and INTRODUCE YOURSELF!!
THE MST3K FRIENDING MEME
YAAAAAAAAAY!!! YOU CAN FIND THE POST HERE: http://community.livejournal.com/ms t3k/2418242.html
and I know you want to do it.. and you can save the post to your memories so you can find it easily.
Please do THIS instead of making your very own introduction post. With over a thousand new members, that is A LOT of introduction posts for the rest of us to scroll through.
ALSO please take the time to READ THE COMMUNITY USER INFO: where you can find OUR COMMUNITY RULES. <-- clickity click!!:D
Probably one of the most important rules is the no either/or/vs. 'whom do you like better rules'. and wording your post in a way that's being all clever trying to get around it isn't going to win you any popularity contests with established members.
If you need anything, you may contact the Mads...

The email about the latest Cinematic Titanic episode came out today and there was a big info drop about the upcoming special set...
This week we're shooting interviews for the much-anticipated Mystery Science Theater 20th anniversary box set. The producers at "Shout Factory" asked us to come to the shoot, "camera ready" and dressed as "we'd want our children and grandchildren to see us". So, I'm curious, how exactly do you pick out an outfit for something like that? And this weekend, Trace, Josh, Frank, Mary Jo and I will be traveling to San Diego to attend Comic-con on and do a special panel celebrating the 20th anniversary of MST3K. Which is also being taped for the 20th anniversary box set. It's going to feel like Christmas in July! I can't wait to watch Trace and Frank walk through the dealer's room together and cause some major MSTie frenzy! Please come by and say hello if you happen to be at the con.

Just popping in to make my voice heard! Been watch MST for about ten years now, and I still love it.
Do you guys ever discuss/view fanvids? A while ago my friends and I made a few which we're currently working on releasing in DVD format. If anyone is interested, drop a line at taylorson123@yahoo.com.
Thanks!
